The Contemplative

I've been reading a book entitled Streams of Living Water by Richard J. Foster (which is an amazing read). It discussed various traditions or streams of the Christian faith and how they have manifested themselves throughout history. The first one he describes is called the "Contemplative Stream" which focuses on the importance of silence and solitude aspect of prayer and meditation. I think it's such a beautiful tradition, and for some reason this picture reminds me of it. Taking times out of our busy day, whether for prayer or quiet reflection, is something I believe anyone can profit from.
